We took our first group trip to Brugge, Belgium (Brugge- dutch Bruges- french). Brugge is located in the Flanders region where they speak Flemish. It has beautiful canals and architecture. We enjoyed a tour given by our professor and some free time to explore the city! We visited the main square, climbed the Belfry Bell tower, visited the Basilica of the Holy Blood where we got to see what is said to be a cloth with Jesus’ blood from the crucifixion, Visited Church of Our Lady Bruges which holds the only Michaelangelo north of the alps, and saw Sint-Jan’s Hospital from the 11th century. We ended our day with chocolate shops and Belgian Waffles!
